Before construction starts, the areas north and south of the Fehmarnbelt that may be directly affected by the fixed link will be mapped. This will include a careful study of the people who will be affected by the project. Among other things, the study will identify land used for agriculture or for leisure purposes, such as summer homes and tourist centres, or other important business interests. It will also be investigated whether changes in traffic will exert any significant effect on social and business groups, e.g. within the tourist industry. If this is the case, more detailed mapping will be carried out. Potential for development

During the construction phase, nearby areas will be brought into use and a large work force will be engaged in construction activities. This will increase traffic in these construction areas. Although efforts will be made to limit disruption as much as possible, noise, dust, and traffic rerouting are inevitable.
During construction, Femern A/S will inform both our neighbours and users of these areas of the significance that the link will have on them and their surroundings.
